Phyllis joined the GAWF board in March 2015 and became Chair a year later. She has substantial experience of work as a trustee over many years, especially supporting children and young people. She was awarded an OBE in 2011 for services to children and families arising from her role as Director of Education and Children's Services in a London borough.

Phyllis has a strong personal commitment to animal welfare and has been involved in cat and dog rescue for over twenty years.

 Involvement in GAWF brings together her professional expertise and personal interests.
