On the 24th October 2016, our team travelled to Santorini. As always one day was spent travelling around the island, checking equines that needed our help. The second day we spent it at the SAWA shelter for all the old and retired.

All the equines seen, had the proper dental and farriery care. As it is expected many were seen with veterinary problems, mostly to the fact that they are working for many years. Arthritis of tarsal and carpal joints, tendonitis, laminitis, and hoof problems, were the problems more commonly encountered.

We would like to thank The Donkey Sanctuary for funding this trip and local vet Margarita Valvi for organising this outreach.
